Chamaerops humilis



Common name: Palmetto, margallón.

Description of the plant: It has a shrub, usually not exceeding 2 m in height. Slow growth. The leaves are fan-shaped, persistent, stiff and straight, with long slender petioles loaded with lateral spines. The fruits are fleshy, ovoid, reddish yellow, 2-3 cm, and are not edible.

Sun Exposure: Sunny or lightly shaded.

Watering: Moderate, can withstand prolonged drought without difficulty.
