Double varied Immortal Seeds

 

Common name: Immortal double wide, Paper Flower, Everlasting Flower Straw.

Scientific name: Helichrysum bracteatum.

Family: Compositae.

Type: Annual.

Origin: Australia.

Description: Ground characterized by a glaucous foliage and flowers in pretty sharp chapters solitary white, pink or purple.

Reached between 0.9 and 1.2 meters high.

Flowers are about 8 cm. in diameter and consist of a disc surrounded by bracts and petal-shaped paper-like texture.

Abundant flowering.

Despite being perennial grown as an annual, discarding the plant after flowering.

Their ability to retain color and not fade when they are dry, make them ideal for decorative or as a cut flower flower centers.

Ideal for growing in pots (10 cm. Diameter) or both planter terraces and balconies and windows.

Flowering: Summer.

Resistance: Semirresistente. Protect from drafts and extreme cold.

Planting time: Spring and autumn.

Method of sowing: Sowing in pots or covered with plastic or glass container. Cover the seeds lightly with a layer of fine sand. The ideal temperature is about 18 º C. Open them for an hour a day so they get used to the air. Keep the compost moist.

Marco separation between adult plants: 30 x30 cm.

Care: Easy to grow and care. Avoid puddles of water. Place pebbles in the bottom of the pot to promote drainage.

Soil Type: A mixture of compost and coarse sand (2:1). Alternatively garden soil mixed with compost and sand.

Light: Full sun.

Watering: Abundant.

Trivia: To make dried flower arrangements, previously the tying flowers should be dried in bunches and hanging them upside down.

Are cut in the fall just before the petals open fully.
