Common name: Camelia.

Description of the plant: The plant is a shrub or small tree of slow growth of 5-10m. of aItura, evergreen, much branched. The leaves are petiolate, oval, dark green above and paler, thick with serrated back edge. The flowers are terminal, solitary or in pairs, ranging in size from 3 to 10 cm. in diameter. The color also varies from pure white to the most rabid red to all shades of pink and red.

Flowering: can bloom from winter to autumn.

Exhibition: prefers partial shade.

Watering: Frequent and heavy, especially in summer. Requires a well-drained soil water, and an acidic pH.
