Cytisus junceum

 

Common name: gayomba, odor Retama, Genista.

Description of the plant: Shrub 1-3 m tall. Branches slender whip-like, similar to a reed. Leaves are few and small. Practically devoid of leaves and is deciduous. Produces golden yellow flowers, which are arranged on the dark green buds.

Flowering: mid summer to early fall.

Sun Exposure: full sun, live poorly in shade.

Irrigation: negligible, supports very dry soils.

Synonym: Spartium
junceum.
