Quercus rubra

Common name: American oak, red oak.

Description of the plant: tree that reaches 25 feet high, growing rapidly in the first years of his life. The trunk bark little cracked, gray, streaked with whitish horizontal. The leaves are ovate or obovate, with 7-11 pairs of lobes triangular teeth arestats, glabrous, petiolate. In the fall, the leaves become red and remain on the tree well into winter.
